Meaningful Use
On July 13, 2010, the Department of Health and Human Services announced final rules to support meaningful use of health information technology. Health care providers and hospitals can qualify for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments when they adopt certified EHR technology and use it to achieve specific objectives.
